You see her. The immense love she pours out to the kids in her home. It doesn't matter if she gets to care for the precious child for a day or a lifetime, she gives them her all. She loves so great and sacrifices so much. She wears herself out each day with whatever it takes to care for those children she is blessed to mother.
You might be her husband, or mom, or sister, or even her grandma. Maybe you are her pastor or in her small group. Either way, you see her, the foster or adoptive mama you love. You know how she pours out her life for for her kids.
You see how she is weary. The calling is hard. It is lonely. You don't always know how to encourage her or what to say. But you want her to know you see her and she is making a difference. Every day. To every child. She is a fantastic mother and you have a front row seat to see God work through her in her home and family.
We've got a really special idea for you this Christmas.
It's the gift that foster and adoptive moms want, even though they might not be able to articulate what they need.
A registration ticket to the Together in the Trenches retreat is for the foster or adoptive mom you love.
One of our attendees last year said it this way, "It was everything I didn't even know I needed."
It's a time to be encouraged, to rest, to be around other moms that "just get it." It's a time to be loved on and pampered, to get her hair styled and that massage you know she wants. It's a time to be reminded of the gospel truths that help us moms get through the hard times and give us hope no matter what we face.
If this sounds like the best Christmas gift ever, it's because it is (at least we think so). So, find a way to check the mama's calendar and make sure she is free May 20-21st. Start thinking about childcare options now and follow the directions below to get a ticket to our 2016 retreat.
Here's what you need to do to snag this special gift for the mom you love:
- Come back here and snag a registration ticket THIS Friday, November 27th. It's our one-day sale where tickets will be available for 24 hours only at the lowest price for this year's retreat. You can see all the different ticket options now to figure out what will be the best gift for the mom you love (this is also where you will buy the ticket on Friday) .
- Fill out your information as the buyer, and put as much as you know about the foster or adoptive mom's information for the attendee.
- Come Christmas, find a way to let her know what you've done for her. We leave this part up to you, but we've listed some ideas below. And here's a printable ticket if you'd like to use it to help share the news (Please remember this ticket is just for show, you have to buy the actual ticket online at the link in step 1).
- *Write a letter or card explaining why you think she should get to go to the retreat and let her know you've bought her a ticket.
- *Tape the ticket to the alarm clock for her to find right when she wakes up.
- *Wrap the ticket in a box or put it in an envelope and put it under the tree.
- *Put the ticket inside of a new coffee mug with some candy or something else included and have it waiting on the table for her.
- *Tape the ticket to the bathroom mirror for her to discover.
- *Send her on a savenger hunt with little gifts along the way and at the end is the ticket to the retreat.
- *Buy her a book (this or this or this or this or this might be good) and put the ticket in the book as a bookmark.
- *Cook her breakfast (or lunch or dinner) and put the ticket inside of the napkin for her to find.
