This picture is from our dinner out celebrating our Trenchiversary. That's the day we all (as strangers) met at a park to hear me (Ashley) share this crazy idea of a retreat for foster and adoptive moms. It's hard to believe that was only just over a year ago now.

You may have noticed we haven't been releasing any new podcasts lately. We have stopped recording podcasts at this point. Sorry it has taken so long for us to put an update out. We have been VERY busy behind-the-scenes as we have begun planning for the 2016 #TrenchesRetreat, and we have been busy doing something new (that we are excited to finally share with you!).

Have you heard about the new app Periscope?

It gives anyone with the app the opportunity to broadcast video LIVE whenever and wherever they are.

So, what does this have to do with us here at Together in the Trenches?

We are on Periscope! And we are streaming live each week to offer encouragement straight to you mommas in the trenches with us!

You can find us live each Wednesday night at 9 pm ET, or you can watch our replays at Katch.me (the screenshots look wonky, but the videos are fine).

Here is more detailed instructions for how to find us on the Periscope App and a brief how-to:

1. Download the free app to your smartphone. It's called Periscope.
2. Search for the user TrenchesRetreat (that's us!).
3. Turn on your notifications.
4. Hear the whistle-sounding notification that tells you when we go live and open your Periscope app to tune in! We normally go live each Wednesday at 9 pm ET. If you want notifications off, then just open your app around 9 and wait for us to show up as "broadcasting now" at the top of the screen on the main view.
5. You can comment throughout the scope, as well as tap the screen to give "hearts" when you especially like what we are saying.

Simple enough, right? We like this format more than podcasting because we are "face-to-face," have more interactions, and it takes less behind-the-scenes work for us to offer you, in our opinion, greater encouragement.

Now, normally, like I said, we broadcast at 9 pm ET on Wednesdays.

This week though, we are having a special scope two hours early to celebrate Katy's adoption day of her youngest son!!! So, tune in this week at 7 pm ET for our special scope.
