This whole mission of the Together in the Trenches retreat is to create a safe place for weary foster and adoptive moms to find rest, encouragement, and community. Plus, we want to pamper them while they are with us! What better ways are there to breathe life into weary women?
A retreat like this has so many moving parts and small details that carry lots of importance! The beauty of this is that there are so many ways for people to be involved who believe in this mission. Yesterday, we shared about a new way to allow people to donate funds to offer scholarships for moms to attend (you can read more here).
Today I am going to share more about a very tangible and real way to serve AT the retreat!
On Saturday morning, we are focusing on providing rest and pampering to the attendees. This will happen through a variety of services:
- Massage Room
- Hair Styling
- Nail Center sponsored by Jamberry Independent Consultant Heather Marshall
- Gentle Prayer Walk
- Personal Devotional Time
- Relaxing Bath Kits
- Maybe more...
So, where can you help?
If you are gifted in any of the above areas (specifically massages and hair styling), we invite you to come and serve these women! Maybe you are gifted in something else that provides rest and pampering and want to serve to? Awesome! Keep reading...
Here is what you need to know:
- The pampering sessions are on Saturday, May 23 from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. The retreat is being held at Wooded Glen Retreat and Conference Center in Henryville, IN, about 30 minutes from downtown Louisville. We ask you to arrive around 9:00 am so we can show you where you'll be at and have time to set up.
- During this time, the attendees will be able to receive the services offered in a way to find rest and be pampered! We are hoping to breathe life into these weary women with your help!
- We are unable to offer any type of financial compensation for your services, We are asking you to come support our mission and volunteer your time.
- We invite you to come with business cards or flyers to hand out to the women you get to serve, if you are interested.
