Look in their Eyes

Have you ever gone through a crazy busy day and realized at the end that you were so rushed and hurried that you never actually took the time to look in the eyes of the people around you?

Please tell me I'm not the only one...

I think back on the days that felt too rushed and feel regret. I never took the time to slow down enough to look in the eyes of my little ones, of my husband, of my friends.

This week, no matter what appointments and scheduling problems we face, no matter the length of our to do list or the things that are heavily weighing on our shoulders, no matter the tantrums or issues at school, no matter the arguments or the house projects taunting you, let's pause.

Let's slow down.

Let's look in the eyes of those we are talking to.

Let's look in the eyes of strangers and smile.

Let's hold our kids faces cupped in our hands, stare into their eyes, and tell them we love them.
