To say our foster journey had some ups and downs would be an understatement. A 2.5 year placement including welcoming home a newborn bio foster sibling will do that for you! My husband bore the most of my deep soul-wrenching concerns and cares. We were certainly in it together!
Sometimes you need a new perspective...a broader one. I'm so grateful that I had friends who fostered. They were in different states and were beautifully supportive from a distance. Sometimes though, it would have been great to know someone fostering here in Kentucky. Adopting here. Someone who could recommend a local lawyer and help explain policies unique to our area. More than that...someone to say "Need to grab coffee and cry about [insert anything about fostering or adoption here]?"
We KNOW other believers must be fostering & adopting in our area...but where are they??? :) Some of us are the only foster or adoptive families in our church.
God is doing a mighty work in our city, calling people to real kingdom work through fostering and adoption. Let's come together and encourage, pray for, sharpen & just get to know each other.
